Baby safety is not optional, it is manufacturing responsibility …
Safety is a priceless ingredient of the parenting journey and should be a basic ingredient for all baby cribs and baby furniture in general. Safety is of paramount importance to Romina furniture. It is difficult if not impossible to quantify the importance of Safety when present and in effect but it is rather easy and very unfortunate to see when Safety is missing. We have made it a priority to include the safest and most innovative technologies in the manufacturing of our baby furniture.
Our family consists of children, parents and grandparents, dogs and cats and many small or little or barking friends. Safety is not an economic measure, it is a measure of love and care and comes in many shades and forms and flavors. Safety means no little fingers being pinched, Safety means that the drawer or even worse, the dresser won’t fall on that little adventurer trying to reach the furniture summit, Safety means no mattress support giving up on the all to common crib jumping session. As a leader in the juvenile furniture industry, we believe that Safety is not a commercial requirement but our responsibility to set new standards for ourselves and pursue new Highs in manufacturing Quality, to go beyond aesthetics and functionality and provide the pride and peace of mind that every parent seeks and deserves.
All our products are periodically tested and certified for safe operation. All our furniture meets and exceeds all Consumer Product Safety Commission code of regulations in effect. We are going further and we are incorporating the latest and most efficient technologies currently available in furniture making. All our furniture (not only cribs) are Greenguard GOLD certified, all our drawers are standardly equipped with safe-closing drawers and anti-tipping systems. All our furniture is designed to be your child’s safest and most comfortable place to sleep and grow around.
Beechwood is a high-density hardwood that Nature has designed it strong and heavy. While we give it a beautiful shape and color and purpose, we cannot change its weight. Nope, we cannot change that. Drawers are substantially heavier and more durable than other furniture you may find as specialty stores. The weight is a reflection of the quality but it could also pose a great deal or risk when children play around it unattended. In their cognitive development stage, children will explore the environment, and their room will be first on the list; they will pull or climb or try to taste everything within reach. Unfortunately, detached drawers are some of the most common accidents with baby furniture, this is why we are utilizing the safest German made anti-detachment systems. Each drawer is equipped with a set of high-density carbon polymer triggers which must be simultaneously pulled for the drawer latch system to disengage. This operation requires a certain level or strength and hand coordination which is not within a toddler or kindergartner’s ability.
We encourage all parents to exercise supervision and preventive care but knowing that the drawers won’t fall out is your child manages to pull them is Priceless.
Romina drawers systems offer full extension for maximum comfort and convenience. The open drawer can also be very appealing to a toddler which may find it adventurous to climb onto the furniture.
Romina safe drawers offer an anti-tipping system where a metal hook component of the steel glide connect into a specially design notch in the drawer box keeping it from tipping over if a child climbs onto the furniture.
Common sense and preventive action is recommended to be exercised at all times. Safety measures are never an excessive practice for Life doesn’t happen only when we’re paying attention. To make your furniture journey as pleasant as possible, all our case units, including nightstands and hutches come with wall anchoring systems. These systems include three different types of latch tools and hardware for brick, sheet-rock or wooden walls. We strongly recommend that you use these systems with all your Romina furniture so that you can limit the amount of risk your little adventurers are exposed to. Installation is fairly easy and intuitive but if you need assistance, never hesitate to ask for it. Better to be Safe than Sorry.
Our German-made drawer and door systems are equipped with a safe-close feature: in order to extend the drawer past the 5 percent extension point, a bit of extra pulling strength is required. This additional pull force may not be noticeable for an average adult but it makes it difficult for an infant to pull out a drawer, most giving up the task altogether. Safe-Close feature also prevents drawer bouncing when pushed in vigorously.
Our drawers and doors are equipped with a hydraulic soft-closing feature, a smooth closing that allows children to retract their hand or fingers and avoid unpleasant situations. Less crying, more laughing that’s Safety’s side effect.
Drawers are also equipped with tipping resistance hooks mounted on the back side or the box. In the unlikely event that a drawer latch system may get disengaged, it will not tip over to injure a child. This is safety all the way around, 360 degrees.
Romina cribs are equipped with metal mattress supports for maximum safety and durability because, wood, as beautiful and unique as it may be, it is a natural material prone to imperfections. These imperfections are making it original and comfortable but also vulnerable to environmental changes and stress factors. A small knot or grain fiddle can look great on a dresser top but it can also cause the sleeping surface to become unstable or damage the mattress. A dry climate can reduce the flexibility coefficient making any wood brittle and prone to splitting. Metal made mattress support alleviate all these concerns and with three adjustable height positions they can be adjusted along with your child growth stages. Metal is also a natural material but it is much more resistant to mechanical stress.
